Nancy Drew Book Club!

Ages: 8-15 year olds

If you love mysteries, love Nancy Drew, and want a place to discuss her adventures, then you are in the right place! Blazing fires at a bookstore, lighthouse adventures, someone purposefully sabotaging a three-day bike ride, someone switching the maps to purposefully get lost in the woods, and people you wouldn't expect! Adventures and mysteries abound with Nancy Drew, and if you have a detective mindset, then this class is for you!

The main purpose of this class is to have fun and connect with peers. Work outside of class includes your young one reading at least 3 chapters per week, which will be assigned ahead of schedule, and then we come together in class to discuss theories, ideas, and who might be the culprit! While I guide the class with structure, the students engage in the topics presented and analyze the latest theories. This also enhances reading skills, an adventure mindset, problem solving skills, social skills, and paves the way for communication and debate! Topics rotate weekly and students choose which way they want to go. Please remember, as the parent, it is up to you to determine what books are appropriate for your child.

Everyone gets a chance to talk and share their theories/ideas. Please note that these books do not need to be read in order! This class lasts 30 minutes per week.

  • No foul or combative language allowed

  • Focus on what you have in common and what you love

  • It's okay to be different and disagree, but please do so respectfully

  • Let's share turns! Give others a chance to talk

  • Above all else, HAVE FUN! This is a space where we celebrate our love for all things Nancy Drew!

This Week: Sunday we dive into the New Nancy Drew book!! Riverboat Roulette (book 14) takes us on a journey via boat where money goes missing and the thief needs to be found before the boat docks! Will Nancy get the culprit in time? I can't wait to collaborate and play detective with you! See you soon! - Xavia
